Sustainable working practices

The company’s main “product” is West Sweden’s fantastic nature and culture and we are an ecotourism company . That’s why it is important to work sustainably and to give back. Caring is an approach: To take care of water, nature and the environment, not least the climate, and work in harmony with them as far as possible. To favour the small-scale, locally rooted and to use principles such as “leave no trace, take only photos and rubbish”. The company is also approved by the Nature’s Best quality label, as 1 of 3 companies in the Bohuslän province.

Sustainable experiences

Salta guiden offers guided experiences and activities all year round, for groups, conferences as well as Swedish individuals. The company works partly with nature activities and offers hiking, kayaking and dining experiences. It also offers cultural tourism, where a place or province is experienced and the visitor gets a relationship with the place. In addition to its own tours, guide assignments are made for travel agencies, visitor destinations, accommodation facilities, cruise ships and passenger boats and for other activity companies. Salta Guiden’s experiences are based on the company’s ecotourism policy.

Contributes to employment

Salta guiden offers quality group programs to travel operators, which makes groups choose West Sweden as a destination for their trip. In doing so, Salta Guiden generates multi-day hotel stays, visits to restaurants and attractions and spreads knowledge about Westsweden and Scandinavia. Guests travel together by bus or by ship to West Sweden.

Sustainable cooperation

I collaborate with companies that work with sustainability and seasonal local ingredients chosen with care; for example, langoustines fished by pots, instead of with a trawl. As a tourism entrepreneur, I want to contribute to a vibrant countryside with year-round open businesses with local jobs. Therefore, I collaborate with other local companies in the locations where I guide. I choose companies with local roots and local employees, and mainly year-round open companies. In this way, I support local businesses and contribute to a year-round open location, which is good for the residents and also for the guests.

We are sustainability audited - Nature's Best

Salta Guiden is an approved ecotourism organizer within the Nature’s Best quality label. We have undergone the audit and meet its high demands for sustainable and environmentally friendly operations, with care for nature. If you want to travel and experience in a sustainable way – choose companies that work with ecotourism. Read more and get inspired by the Nature’s Best website. Salta guiden is a member of The Swedish Nature and Ecotourism Association (Naturturismföretagen), where all members work for the sustainable development of the industry.

While working, this is how Salta Guiden can make sustainable choices and contribute to a sustainable tourism industry:

Nature tours

Hiking and kayaking have a low environmental footprint. Groups are small to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on nature. The principle is: “leave only footprints, take only photos and trash home with you”. No disposable materials are used. The company works with the West Coast Foundation to showcase the nature reserves, spread knowledge and joy about our nature. To get more people to appreciate and respect nature and the values it stands for. We are also a proud partner of the national park Tresticklan. Salta guiden is a member of The Swedish Nature and Ecotourism Association, where all members work for the sustainable development of the industry.

Cultural guided tours

Salta guiden offers cultural guiding in a number of places in Bohuslän and western Sweden. By highlighting culture, understanding, belonging and community are created between people. Newcomers get a relationship with the place, young people get a time perspective and many get an explanation of why things are as they are today. Local traditions, food and businesses are highlighted and given the chance to live on.

Extra arrangements

These are deliberately placed outside the summer period. This creates an incentive to travel and the program includes both Saturday and Sunday so overnight stays are created. Lectures in rented association premises and restaurant visits are also included.
